Hats off to J.K Rowling for Harry Potter

If you don't like Harry Potter I'd say U can stop reading right now cause all this blog will be about is Harry Potter....and before you start assuming let me clarify.....I'm not talking about Daniel Radcliffe.....Its about Harry Potter, the character created by Rowling while sitting in cafes trying to save her electricity bills in her apartment.......you have to give it to this lady.....this is creativity at its best........and why this sudden interest in Harry Potter when all the hue and cry over the last book (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) is over.....well thats cause I still haven't read the book....I'm a little methodical in that way....I prefer to stick to the sequence....and since I havn't had the time to read "The Half Blood Prince" I just couldn't jump and ruin my surprise.....So I waited patiently.....and a test of patience it was....what with everyone talking about the book and every 3rd person on the streets/railways platforms/planes sitting engrossed in one.....I had to try my best not to snatch one up and start reading......However, last week I got hold of the Half Blood Prince and went through 200 pages almost immediately........considering that I wasn't part of Rowling's original target market it's an achievement of the biggest sorts for her.......What gives someone the idea to come up with names like the ones she has used..........I just can't seem to get my creative juices flowing at that speed........well for that matter at any speed at all........whew.......anyways so finally i finished reading this book.....pretty good and gripping.......and before you jump up and say 'come on thats a kiddish book...blah blah blah'......let me point out that thats what it was supposed to be.........and yet 57% of her readers turned out to be above 18yrs old.....hmmmmm thats something.......so before i keep writing i need to finish my books.....will continue with my ravings later....

On RATATOUILLE - Rat-a-too-ee

Finally...The long wait for the much talked about movie RATATOUILLE is over....and was it worth the wait...Oh Boy....Thats some cuuuuuuuuuuuuuteeeeeeeeee movie folks....If you still havn't watched it then I recommend it with as many stars as you want (***************)....yeah this is one hell of a movie which shouldn't be missed....the concept is cute...a rat with big dreams in a big city...wants to be a Chef in Paris...wow...does the story strike a cord somewhere...well it will for many people....for those who haven't had the luck of being born in a family of the likes of the Gates or the Mittals (L.N.Mittal ofcourse) or is not a heir to J.K Rowling can probably relate to this story....the movie talks about dreams and having the courage to follow them...A rat coming from the humble background that rats do, dreams of being a chef (oh yeah.....totally bizarre but quite an appealing concept)...
Remy our star of the movie (the rat ofcourse) dreams of being a chef and is inspired by the Late Gusteau (who was apparently one of the most famous chefs in France.....the jewel in France's culinary crown....an artist who believed that "Anyone can cook"...and so did Remy).....having memorised Chef Gusteau's recipe book from cover to cover and having a never ending appetite to create the finest of dishes, he goes against his family's wishes and takes on the world with his tiny paws and a great sense of taste and flavors....facing all odds and finding ways to overcome them...

One day Remy sees Linguini, the awkward garbage boy/kitchen hand in the restaurant knocking over the pot of soup on the stove...to avoid getting into trouble Linguini tries to rectify his mistake by adding some water and everything that he can get his hands on in the pot....This is too much for Remy's refined culinary senses.....he rushes in to undo the damage......As fate would have it the people love the soup and believe that Linguini (who is a disaster when it comes to cooking) is an expert cook.....being promoted from a garbage boy to a cook Linguini finds himself in troubled waters.....Linguini is totally lost and doesn't know what to do....in his desperation he turns to Remy for help....This marks the beginning of a long friendship between Remy and Linguini......Remy's cooking skills and Linguini's human form go ahead to build this awesome partnership which soon takes Gusteau's to the height of stardom in the world of cuisines...there's still a lot to come and heaps of troubles and happy moments for Remy and Linguini.....I won't spoil the fun for you....if u want to know what happens to Remy in the end then go ahead and watch this movie.....If you are one of those people who think that animation is only for kids then I suggest you try and watch Ratatouille.....it brings forth a complete new angle to cartoons.........

Exams n More....

Why the hell am I sitting here and blogging away my precious time when I have an exam in about 4 hrs? Well thats cause I'm just a lil bit tired of studying...Who says that perfect scores matter and why is that distinction so coveted and in some case that higher distinction.....geeeez? Exams should be about having fun and relaxing after a gruelling term of assignments and assessments....but no...all the management can think of is ending the term with another exam and sleepless nights and not to mention the terror of the results....exams are really not all that bad....it's the results that ruin everything...only if the results were just as anonymous as the polling system....only if exams were to test the ability of the university to impart knowledge and not for the students learning skills....
Well i can go on rambling for ever on studies and exams and stuff that doesn't strike me as worthy enough to spend time on....but unfortunately the exam can't be deferred and nor the results....so i'd better drag myself back to the books and put my mind back into action.....
should be back soon to let u know what was responsible for runing my exams this time....

About Die Hard 4.0

Wow...Die Hard 4.0....pretty cool movie...coming from me who doesn't like too much action, this has to be an absolutely amazing compliment.....well actually it would be wrong to say that I don't like action...I do....but something which is not stifflingly gory like our very own Bollywood Action of the likes of Shootout at Lokhandwala and the rest..........whew.....too much bloodshed and violence for my liking..........but Die Hard 4.0 just has to be the coolest or rather the hottest of the series.........and why am I saying all this...coz this is a blog site and I can say whatever I like....I can't imagine how these hollywood actors can stay so hot even past 50......Bruce Willis does carry off the movie quite well....not to mention the amazing stunts and the whole technical gizmo stuff....coming to the technical stuff, does going all digital makes a country as vulnerable as is shown.......would there be a day when some techno geek might just become this super power and start playing GOD....someone who can shut down a country by a mere few keyboard tappings and ........."ENTERS"......thats a little scary........how convenient it would be for a country like India where the major part of the country is still out of the loop of the network.........
This just makes me put on my thinking cap and wonder if being digitally ready is a boon or a bane.......is India safe or should it be sorry for the state that it is in? Go figure..........

Motivation!!!

What the heck am I working for? What motivates me to get out of bed every morning? Money...oh yes.....but not always.......I just love having it......it does helps me to get all my shopping done and not to mention the junk that I keep shoving down my throat........those burgers and ice creams and ooooohhhh the choclates.........but is money everything?
Not really...........I'm probably one of those millions who want it all....money, love, friends, success and a relaxed life to enjoy it all....now don't you want it too??
Well motivation is a pretty serious issue....and the more I think about it the more serious it seems to get...and to add to it i'm not even a creative person.....so why all this interest about motivation....well because i have been thinking of taking some steps to change things in my life....and yes these could be some drastic ones......so just taking a step back and trying to get a good look at my life.....trying to live an out of body experience.......and guess where I get stuck....Motivation.......so what do you think???

Friends are forever.....or are they???

Now let me see....why am I writing this.....well just now a friend of mine asked the site for my blogs and wanted to read them....well honestly i do have another blog site but it has a lot of details of i might not be comfortable sharing with friends....now does that mean i don't trust them........well no....not really....in this case i trust this friend of mine more than i trust most people...and honestly i'v got only a few friends whom i trust totally....but then why wasn't i comfortable with him seeing my blog.......probably because of a fear of judgement.......or is it a fear of not living up to expectations....well i don't know....but if its either of these then probably friends mean a lot more than i knew......yes....friends.....they mean a lot to me and to probably most of u out there........because these are the people u love to be with.......these are the people who's opinions matter.......who's joys and sorrows affect u like ur own.......and yes friends make a person.......some of them are truely friends forever.....i know mine are.........i wouldn't like to lose any of these precious gifts ever.....does that mean i will have them always.....maybe or maybe not.........i sure hope i do.........for me i'd be there for my friends as long as i can be.........and hope the same for all u guys out there..........choose ur friends wisely...and once u do, stick to them like glue.........make friends forever..........
